The International project «Training of self-diagnostics of breast cancer in Kazakhstani young population» is realized by the staff of the Department of General Medical Practice of Semey, in the frameworks of the program RITA. N.A. Balashkevich, Master of Medicine, represents SMU, NCJSC, as a project coordinator.

After receiving of appropriate training the first and second year residents of the specialty “Family Medicine” were involved as volunteers for implementation of the project action items, specifically, with the aim to deliver workshops for medical interns. Under the guidance of the clinical coach, acting of associate professor of the Department of General Medical Practice of Semey, c.m.s. S.M. Adilgozhina, the medical residents A.A. Toleugazinova and A.A. Toleugozhina held trainings among medical interns of groups # 602, 604, 606, 607, 610, 611, 612, 613, 614 during the time period from 24th of February to 7th of March, 2023. Just after registration the participants were offered to pass a pre-test. Theoretical part of the seminar included interactive lecture on self-diagnostics of breast cancer, and practical part was represented with demonstration of several methods of mammary glands palpation on training models. Working by small groups, all trainees had a possibility to master the skill of mammary gland examination on the training models. Post-test was conducted with the purpose of assessment of acquaintance of shared knowledge and skills by medical interns.
