On March 25, 2023, a delegation from Japan headed by Professor of the Faculty of Literature, Art and Science of Waseda University Hideto Tsuboi visited Semey Medical University, NCJSC. The meeting was organized with the assistance of the President of the PF “Family Center” Zhanna Zhagfarovna Zhibrayeva.

The guests of the university were met by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of SMU, NCJSC Altay Akhmetkaliyevich Dyussupov. During a conversation with colleagues from Japan, Altay Akhmetkaliyevich Dyussupov, Chairman of the Board – Rector of SMU, NCJSC, spoke about the long-standing and continuously developing partnerships between the two countries, as well as the invaluable contribution of the Japanese government, scientists and doctors in eliminating the consequences of many years of testing at the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site , rehabilitation of the affected population, solution of environmental problems of the region. It should be noted that Japan is the first country that offered assistance in solving all these problems, for many years it has been helping to equip medical organizations with modern equipment, leading experts share their experience, invite scientists from Kazakhstan to the best research and educational centers in Japan. This fruitful cooperation continues today. During the meeting, foreign colleagues spoke about the purpose of the visit to Kazakhstan, including the study of the history and consequences of the SNTS. During the acquaintance with the university, the guests were shown the Museum of the World, the Japanese room, opened more than ten years ago in tribute to their colleagues and partners from Japan, and the guests also visited the anatomical museum of the university.[/vc_column_text]
