Summer school on the topic: “An integrated approach to the problem of pneumonia in children, rehabilitation”

On May 3rd, 2023, the Summer School on “A Comprehensive Approach to the Problem of Pneumonia in Children and Rehabilitation” was opened. The organizers of the event are the professors and residents of the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Rehabilitation named after D. Tusupova. The participation was both offline and online. The first word was given by the head of the department, Aliya Rakhmetollakyzy, who wished the participants good luck and prosperity in their work. Pneumonia in children has become a common disease and, therefore, remains relevant. The goal of the summer school is to take a comprehensive approach to studying this disease. On the first day, neonatal residents, under the guidance of the assistant of the department, Ali Bekova B.A., presented four reports on the topics of “Anatomical and physiological features of the respiratory system in newborns” (2nd-year resident Bitimirova A.O.), “Congenital lung defects” (2nd-year resident Paruazbek G.Q.), “Respiratory system diseases in newborns” (1st-year resident Kusaiynova L.A.), and “Respiratory therapy for newborns” (2nd-year resident Maksutova A.M.). The information covered the features of the structure of premature and full-term newborns and the difficulties that doctors may face when performing manipulations. Since it is necessary to know the factors leading to a disease to study it, frequently occurring lung defects, respiratory distress syndrome, congenital pneumonia, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, etc. were discussed. Statistics from the last 4 years at the Regional Perinatal Center of the city of Semey were shown, including the indicators of the general birth rate, the number of premature births, and the frequency of occurrence of the above-mentioned diseases among them. Information was provided on the respiratory therapy carried out for such diseases, and video reviews with the clinical picture of real patients were shown. At the end of all the reports, the students asked questions that interested them, and the topics were discussed. Today’s topics were definitely useful for our residents, interns of different specialties, who are united by one thing: saving the lives and improving the quality of life of young patients with such diseases. At the end, the assistant of the department, Danara Imanmadieva Mubarakaovna, thanked the speakers and participants for their activity and noted important points of the day. We wish our colleagues good luck in the following days![/vc_column_text]
