On May 26, 2023, the Chairman of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan issued Order № 238, which granted the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the educational program 8D10102 – Medicine to Kusainova Asiya Abikhasovna. This event holds significant importance as it marks the first time in the Republic of Kazakhstan that a degree in the field of “Medicine” has been awarded to a candidate who defended their thesis with a series of articles. The entirety of these articles constitutes a cohesive scientific work exploring the topic of “Association between serum levels of neurotransmitters and polymorphism of their genes with generalized anxiety disorder in patients with vitiligo”. It is noteworthy that all the articles have been published in high-impact journals classified as Q1-Q2 according to Scopus, and have achieved a rating of 92-87% according to Web of Science. The research study was conducted under the guidance of two esteemed scientific consultants. The first consultant is an acting Professor from the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenereology, and Immunology at NCJSC “Semey Medical University” – Akhmetova A.K., who holds the title of Associate Professor and is a candidate of Medical Sciences. The second consultant is a PhD and an Associate Professor-Researcher from the Department of General Medical Practice with a Course of Evidence-Based Medicine at NJSC “Astana Medical University” – Kassym L.T.
