On November 17th 2023 a curatorial hour was held at the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology on the topic: “Development of professional competencies of students”. Organizer: Assistant of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology, curator: Almagambetova A.A. Participants: students of 5108 group GM.
Almagambetova A.A. made a welcoming speech to the 5th year students of Semey Medical University. In her speech she highlighted that today medicine is in need a high level of communicative competence which determines the formation of their professional competence. The professional competence of a medical worker is based not only on the knowledge and skills to provide therapeutic and preventive care but also on the ability to successfully interact with patients in order to clarify not only objective, but also personal causes of the disease.
Was presented that reflected important aspects of communication between a doctor and a patient, knowledge of the principles of mutual cooperation, a combination of professional qualities and personal positions, the desire for self-development and self-realization in their future professional activities.
Students actively engaged in discussions, asked questions. At the end a psychological and psychotherapeutic training for a positive attitude was conducted.
This training helped students to understand that the professional competence is an integrative quality of personality, professional empathy, stress tolerance, mercy, contributing to the restoration of the patient’s health.
