On January 31, 2024, a lesson was held at the “Speaking club” with students of the 2nd to 5th course of the foreign department. The lesson was conducted by the head of the department of Anatomy, histology and topographic anatomy named after prof. N.A. Khlopov, PhD, associate professor Kozhanova Saule Keneskhanovna. The leader of the “Speaking club” Beleukhanova K. M. and volunteers were also present at the lesson. During the lesson, the topic “Structure of the Heart” was discussed in an interactive manner using heart models, and improvement of knowledge of terms related to the topic. Students mastered anatomical terminology in Russian on the external and internal structure of the heart and large vessels. Attention was drawn to the similarity of Latin terms according to the International Anatomical Nomenclature with English terms used to describe the structure of the heart, its chambers and walls. Students were presented with a dictionary of anatomical terms in English, Russian and Latin. All anatomical structures were disassembled using heart models. At the end of the lesson, students independently described the structure of the heart using terminology in Russian. All participants noted the need for such classes to development students’ language competencies.[/vc_column_text]
