On February 15, 2024, at the military department of the NAO “Semey Medical University”, in order to educate young people with a sense of patriotism, develop horizons, responsibility for the future, with 3rd year students of group 3314,303.3415, an educational hour was held on the topic “Afghanistan is our memory and pain” by 35- the anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.

The students learned about the reasons for the entry of Soviet troops into Afghanistan, about the courage and bravery of Soviet soldiers, about the difficult conditions in which they had to fight and about the assistance provided by Soviet troops to local residents.

At the end of the conversation, the students honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.

Thus, this event contributed to the acquisition of knowledge about the Afghan war and its main participants.
