At the Department of Hospital Surgery, Anesthesiology and Reanimatology, a regular meeting of the student scientific circle was held on February 15, 2024. The heads of the student scientific circle were present: Abdrakhmanov S.T., Auyenov M.A., Masalov A.E., as well as teachers of the department, Doctor of Medical Sciences. Professor Aimagambetov M. Zh., Doctor of Medical Sciences Professor Bulegenov T.A., Ph.D. Professor Masalimov E.O.  4th year students and 6th year interns participated. The topic of the meeting was: “General information, fundamentals and history of transplantology. Liver transplantation.” The reports stated that, over the past decades, transplantation has achieved significant success and remains a relevant field of medicine in the territories of the Republic of Kazakhstan for several reasons: the growing need for organs, improvements in technology and transplantation methods, and is also the main method of treatment to return a patient to a full life with various chronic liver diseases. At the meeting, issues ranging from the history of transplantology to modern, most important aspects of liver transplant surgery, which positively affect the results of treatment and rapid recovery of patients, were discussed. The introduction and expansion of transplantation in other areas of our country gives us great prospects for improving the quality of medical care to the population. The basic surgical techniques, preparation of donors and recipients, indications and contraindications for liver transplantation, and further postoperative rehabilitation to prevent early and late complications are considered. Participants in the circle meeting received detailed important information about transplantology and the features of liver transplantation.[/vc_column_text]
