On the effect of energy drinks on the body of teenagers

In recent years, the fascination with energy drinks has become fashionable and has reached the level when they begin to use them from an early age. Many people drink energy drinks today, and mostly they are young people and teenagers. The advertisement informs about the benefits of energy drinks: drinking them is “cool” and stylish, and you will feel great, and everything in life will work out right away. The problem of consuming energy drinks is important due to the possible negative effect of this product on various organs and the body as a whole. The main component of these drinks is caffeine. Consuming large doses of energy drinks can lead to an overdose of caffeine. This, in turn, causes a sharp jump in blood pressure, heart rate, and cardiac arrhythmias. As psychostimulants, energy has an effect on the nervous system, causing sleep disorders, headaches, increased anxiety, provoke panic attacks, can cause increased aggressiveness, with prolonged use — chronic fatigue.

Taking into account the relevance of this problem, the staff of the Semey OVP department of the NAO “MUS”, the head of the department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor A.A. Dyusupova, teachers G.T. Kamashcheva, A.S. Dzharmukhametova, V.T. Akhmetova, together with interns of the 713 group, within the framework of the university improvement project, conducted a seminar-conversation with teenagers N18 of the Semey secondary school on the topic: “On the effect of energy drinks on the body of adolescents.” A video was shown about the dangers of energy for a growing body.

Remember that by consuming energy drinks, a person is deceiving his own body. Therefore, before taking them, think about those serious consequences, such as heart failure, insomnia, addiction, exhaustion of the body, deterioration of performance and well-being.
