On March 19, 2024 students of group 4403 of specialty “General Medicine” and curator of the group Zhazykbaeva L. K. K. held a curatorial hour, timed to the celebration of Nauryz. The topic of the curatorial hour was the discussion of the tradition – Tokymkagar. Tokymkagar is an ancient Kazakh tradition. When a boy on horseback is going to travel for the first time, he is given a huge responsibility. He will not go just to travel – he is asked to either pass on the tidings, or to bring in cattle or horses. And he must accomplish his task. In honor of this event, the child’s father would call guests, and the mother would set a festive dastarkhan. Guests treated themselves, sang songs, told different stories. The students listened to a presentation on the topic, watched a presentation and were able to freely discuss what they heard. The students were also able to ask questions on the topic of Nauryz. Students were satisfied with the curatorial hour and received knowledge about the traditions of their ancestors.
