On April 9, 2024, an open lesson was held at the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology with the participation of residents in the specialties “Adult and pediatric nephrology” and “Adult and pediatric gastroenterology” under the guidance of academic mentors: Professor Zhumadilova Z.K. and associate professor Kapanova G.K.
An open interdisciplinary meeting was devoted to the clinical analysis of a comorbid pathological process with severe damage to the urinary and digestive systems caused by metabolic syndrome.
Presentations were made by nephrology residents A. Mukhtarova and A. Baurzhankyzy, as well as gastroenterology residents G. Amanzholova and S. Paisrakhmanova., M. Keukenova, who informed about modern scientific concepts that explain the negative impact of metabolic syndrome on the urinary tract and gastrointestinal tract organs, and also determined the tactics for further treatment the considered comorbid syndrome.
During the discussion, specific practical recommendations were formulated and positive feedback was given from the undergraduate and internship students present.
