On April 27, the II Regional Olympiad in the discipline “Chemistry” was held among schoolchildren of 11th grade in the Abay region, East Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions and an “Open Day” was held as part of career guidance work. The organizers of the events are teachers of the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines named after prof. Tapbergenova S.O. and staff from the Office of Admissions and the Medical Foundation. The Olympiad was held in the state language, Russian, and one round was held in the form of written testing. The tests included questions from the high school chemistry curriculum. Written testing consisted of 50 test questions of I, II, III levels of complexity. At the grand opening of the event, all participants of the Olympiad were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational Work, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Smailova Zh.K., aqcting Head of the Department Candidate of Biological Sciences, Professor of RAE Olzhayeva R.R. In total, 95 students took part in the Olympiad, 73 in Kazakh and 22 in Russian. Based on the results of the Olympiad, winners were determined who received diplomas of 1st, 2nd, 3rd degrees and monetary rewards. All participants received certificates for their active participation.
