Scientific conferences are an important event for students, allowing them to demonstrate their scientific research, share knowledge and experience with colleagues from different educational institutions. The
traditional annual 66th student scientific and practical conference of students with international participation “Science and Health”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Professor NPJSC “SMU” Panu K.Ilyasovna was a particularly significant event in connection with the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the professor of the NPJSC “SMU” Kakenova Panu Ilyasovna. The conference, which took place from April 11 to 12, 2024, featured poster and oral presentations reflecting a variety of scientific research by students of the scientific circle at the Department of Propaedeutics of Children Diseases.
Poster presentations at the conference were presented by students Sagyndykova Gulnur, 5th course, GM, with the theme “Preventive examination programs in Kazakhstan as a tool for identifying children and adolescents with hereditary diseases” and Sudhanshu Gupta, 4th course, GM, with a report on “Perception of adaptation among first-year medical University students”, also a student Galymova Aruzhan, 3rd year, GM, with the topic of the report “Epidemiology of acute poisoning among children over the past two years in Semey city”. Their work allowed them to shed light on current problems in the field of science and children’s health, as well as demonstrate the students’ ability to work on scientific projects.
The students who won prizes were awarded in the nomination of oral reports. The second place at the breakout session was taken by a 4th year student, GM Sapargalieva Albina, who presented her research on the topic “Definition and early diagnosis of metabolic syndrome in children”, scientific supervisor Tugelbaeva A.M., assistant of the department. The first place at the breakout session was taken by a 2nd-year student of Pediatrics Akhylbayeva Adema with the topic of the report: “Research on the use of energy drinks among children and adolescents” scientific supervisor Rakhimbayeva S.Zh., magist of medicine, assistant of the department. The first place at the plenary session was taken by 4th year students, GM Basit Abdul and Mir Kamran Mohammad with the topic of the report “The prevalence of orphan diseases in pediatric practice”, scientific supervisor Muratova F.K., assistant of the Department of Propaedeutics of Childdren Diseases. Their oral presentations aroused great interest among the audience and the jury of the conference, who noted the high level of research and professionalism of the students.
Participation in such scientific conferences promotes the development of scientific thinking, the exchange of experience and knowledge, and also allows students to grow professionally and expand their horizons. We hope that such events will continue in the future, inspiring students to new scientific discoveries and achievements.
