The role of a clinical mentor in the work of a resident pulmonologist

In the training of doctors in the specialty “Adult and pediatric Pulmonology”, the NAO MUS is the Department of Therapy. Residents are trained by experienced staff of the department, leading pulmonologists at the clinical bases of Semey, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Pavlodar.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, 7 residents are studying in the residency in the specialty “Adult, children’s Pulmonology”, of which 1 year of study: in Semey – 3, in Pavlodar – 2. 2 years of study: 2 residents-1 resident in Pavlodar, and 1 resident in Ust-Kamenogorsk.

In Semey, the clinical base is the KGP at the PHB “Regional Center of Phthisiopulmonology” UZ OA.

In Pavlodar, the clinical base is the KGP at the Pavlodar Regional Hospital named after G. Sultanov.

In Ust-Kamenogorsk, the clinical base is the City Hospital No. 4.

Clinical mentors in the specialty “Adult and pediatric Pulmonology” are:

  1. Zharkenova Botagoz Kenespekovna – Head. by the phthisio-pulmonological department of the KGP at the PHV “Regional Center of phthisiopulmonology of the UZ region of Abai, Semey. A pulmonologist of the highest category.
  2. Abdieva Zagripa Tokenovna -Head of the freelance pulmonologist of the East Kazakhstan Region, head of the respiratory center of the KGP at the PHV 4 City Hospital of Ust-Kamenogorsk. A pulmonologist of the highest category.
  3. Bashirova Gulnara Kapiyatovna – Head of the freelance pulmonologist of the Pavlodar region RCD KGP at the Pavlodar Regional Hospital named after G. Sultanov. A pulmonologist of the highest category.

Under the guidance of clinical mentors, residents learn practical skills on a daily basis, perform manipulations, and enter medical documentation. Residents participate in rounds of the heads of the department, department, professors, clinical reviews and consultations.

In the training of residents, special attention is paid to moral education, communication skills of communicating with patients and colleagues in compliance with the principles of medical ethics and deontology.

According to the principles of the trinity of education, science and clinic, the department trains highly qualified pulmonologists.
