On 30.05.2024, the NAO “Semey Medical University” hosted a meeting of the Clinical Council to discuss the use of antimicrobial drugs and the problem of resistance in the modern world. The vice-rector for the Berikuly clinic D., Deputy director of the University Hospital for Innovation and Surgical Care Akparov T.L., teachers of the Department of Pharmacology named after Prof., MD were present. M.N.Musina, residents clinical pharmacologists of 1.2 years of study, online through the Zoom platform listened to the ultrasound of the Abai region, doctors of polyclinics №1, №4, №7, №9, BSMP, branches of NAO “MUS” Pavlodar, Ust-Kamenogorsk.
The seminar began with a report by Asel Erdosovna Kakytaeva, a teacher of the department, “Tactics of a doctor with intolerance to cephalosporin antibiotics.” The report was devoted to a widely used group of drugs that can cause various hypersensitivity reactions, consideration of strategies and approaches that a doctor can use for cephalosporin intolerance, as well as alternative therapeutic options and precautions.
The “Rational antibacterial therapy of diseases of the respiratory system” was reported by the assistant of the Department of Kasymkan Aigerim Yerkibulankyzy. Recommendations on the etiotropic therapy of pneumonia and COPD were given, based on the guidelines of the leading European communities on respiratory diseases.
Gram-negative bacilli are the cause of about a quarter to half of all bloodstream infections, regardless of in- or out-of-hospital infections. This was reported by Zhumatai Akzhan Bolatkyzy, a lecturer at the department, in her report “Gram-negative bacillary bacteremia in adults”.
The report of resident clinical pharmacologist for 2 years Imatulina Zhanyl Bolatovna “Clinical pharmacology of beta-lactam antibiotics” was devoted to a brief clinical and pharmacological characteristic of beta-lactam antibiotics, indications for their use in practice, since they form the basis of modern chemotherapy, occupy an important place in the treatment of most infections.
The widespread use of antibiotics for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes has led to the selection and spread of polyresistant flora. Polyresistant bacteria – causative agents of nosocomial infections, are widespread in all countries of the world. This was stated by the head teacher of the department in her report “Antimicrobial drug management in hospital settings”. Zheldibaeva Umit Toktagazievna.
The seminar was concluded by the head of the department Tuleutaeva Raykhan Yesenzhanovna with a discussion of the problem “Antimicrobial resistance: possible solutions”. Drug resistance leads to a loss of effectiveness of antibiotics and other antimicrobial drugs and gradually complicates or makes it impossible to treat infections, the speaker noted and outlined the main points related to taking measures to combat antimicrobial resistance.
Vice-rector for the clinic Duman Berikuly concluded the meeting of the Clinical Council, gave a positive assessment of the training seminar for doctors.
