International academic mobility of residents

Within the framework of the academic mobility programme, Dusipbekova Araylym, a 1st year resident of the specialty ‘Gastroenterology adult, children’, underwent an internship in Nizhny Novgorod on the basis of the Privolzhsky Research Medical University.

The Privolzhsky Research Medical University is a major centre of medical education and science, with its own university clinic and high positions in world rankings. It is one of the oldest universities in Russia.

In the period from 13.05.24 to 24.05.24 Dusipbekova Araylym studied in the department of gastroenterology, which is located on the basis of Railway Hospital ‘Medicine’. The first day started with making a plan for the internship. Mentor of the academic mobility was Vlasova Tatiana Vladimirovna – associate professor, candidate of medical sciences, doctor of gastroenterology. During the academic mobility the resident participated in examinations of patients during rounds, exceptional clinical cases were analysed. After the general rounds in the department, the residents were engaged in the theoretical part of the academic mobility, where they dealt with such general topics as anaemia, Bacterial overgrowth syndrome, the importance of physiotherapy in the practice of gastroenterology.

Under the mentorship of the Head of the Regional Endoscopy Centre, endoscopist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honoured Doctor of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Mari El, Director of the Endoscopy Training Centre Mitrakova Nina Nikolaevna Araylym resident visited the Regional Endoscopy Centre for two days, where she was present during gastroscopy, colonoscopy, which allows to deepen the knowledge of various pathologies of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract. Academic mobility provided a great and valuable experience for the resident, allowed to expand clinical thinking and knowledge that will be needed in practice in the future. Resident Dusipbekova Araylym thanks NCJSC «Semey Medical University» for the opportunity to undergo an interesting and valuable international academic mobility.
