According to the plan of Saturday events in the Student Houses of NJSC “MUS”, employees of the discipline of urology of the Department of Surgical Disciplines carried out agitation and explanatory work in the Student House №1 in anticipation of the referendum on October 6, 2024 on the construction of a nuclear power plant in the Republic of Kazakhstan. A round table was organized on the topic “Formidable atom for peaceful purposes.”
A conversation was held about the operating cycle of power units, the technology of uranium mining and enrichment, its transportation and storage. The need for the country’s energy independence in electricity was especially noted in view of industrial growth, obsolescence and wear and tear of old coal plants, and the instability of renewable energy sources. They emphasized the importance of technological reliability and environmental safety of nuclear power plants.
Students actively participated in the discussion and also asked questions. At the end of the event, positive feedback was received from the students.
