World Heart Day was first organized in 1999 on the initiative of the World Heart Federation (WHF). This event was supported by the World Health Organization (WHO), UNESCO and other significant organizations. World Heart Day is celebrated on September 29. Cardiovascular diseases are one of the leading causes of death in the world. The purpose of the Day is to raise awareness of cardiovascular diseases, their causes and methods of prevention. On September 27, 2024, at the Semey Emergency Hospital, as part of the World Heart Day, a lecture was held for cardiologists and residents by the head of the Department of Therapy D.A. Mansurova, on “The Main Aspects of Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute Coronary Syndrome”. Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is a term that denotes the period of exacerbation of ischemic heart disease (IHD), when any group of clinical signs or symptoms allows one to suspect acute infarction (MI) or unstable angina. Clear organization and training of specialists providing assistance to patients with emergency cardiovascular pathology is very important. Widespread implementation of modern achievements of evidence-based medicine into practice allows one to improve the quality of assistance to patients of this group.
