The Department of Therapy of the Semey Medical University conducts training of young specialists in the residency in the specialty “Pulmonology (adult, pediatric)”, lasting 2 years. The educational program is aimed at full training in the issues of diagnostics, treatment and prevention of diseases of the respiratory system.

Currently, 5 residents of the 1st year of study and 5 residents of the 2nd year of study are studying in the residency in the specialty “Pulmonology (adult, pediatric)”, of which 6 residents are studying at the base of the phthisiopulmonology department of the PUE on the right of economic management “Regional center of phthisiopulmonology” o, 4 residents – at the base of the university branch in the city of Pavlodar. Academic and clinical mentors teach residents medical skills for examining, diagnosing and treating patients, communicating with patients and colleagues in compliance with the principles of medical ethics and deontology, applying theoretical knowledge in practice and actively participating in clinical discussions and consultations, in the discussion and implementation of new modern methods of diagnosis and treatment.
