The Department of Therapy of the Semey Medical University conducts training of young specialists in the residency in the specialty “Therapy”. Duration of training is 2 years. The educational program is aimed at full training in the issues of diagnostics, treatment and prevention of therapeutic diseases.

The educational program in the specialty “Therapy” is aimed at full training in the diagnostics, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of common therapeutic diseases.

Currently, 10 residents of the 1st year of study (Semey-7, Ust-Kamenogorsk-1, Pavlodar-2) and 2-year residents-7 residents are studying in the residency in the specialty “Therapy”, of which 3 residents are studying at the Emergency Hospital in Semey, 1 resident – at the branch of the university in Ust-Kamenogorsk and 2 residents – at the branch of the university in Pavlodar.

Under the guidance of academic and clinical mentors, residents are trained in medical skills of examination, diagnosis and treatment of patients, communication with patients and colleagues in compliance with the principles of medical ethics and deontology, application of theoretical knowledge in practice and active participation in clinical analyses and consultations, in the discussion and implementation of new modern methods of diagnosis and treatment. Residents with academic mentors during classes discuss modern clinical guidelines, classifications, methods of diagnosis and treatment.
