On November 29, 2024, general practice assistants, Yensibaeva Sh.D. and Nigmanova G.E., with the participation of group 627, conducted a sanitary and educational event for patients with diabetes. The topic of the session was “Foot Care in Diabetes.”
Diabetes is a chronic condition that can affect the blood vessels and nerves, particularly in the lower limbs. Proper foot care helps prevent many complications such as ulcers, infections, and amputations.

- Prevention of Diabetic Foot care Participants learned the importance of daily foot examination to detect early signs of skin damage, cuts, cracks, as well as changes in skin color and swelling, which may indicate circulation problems.
- Foot Care Guidelines: Patients with diabetes were informed about the proper hygiene of the feet, including how to wash and thoroughly dry the feet, especially between the toes, to prevent fungal infections.
- Footwear and Its Importance: The participants were educated on selecting the right footwear. They were informed about the importance of wearing comfortable shoes that do not cause rubbing, in order to prevent blisters and other injuries.
- Monitoring Foot Condition: Self-monitoring techniques were discussed, such as checking for ulcers and other damage, as well as the necessity of regular doctor visits for preventive check-ups.
- Blood Sugar Control: The participants were reminded that controlling blood sugar levels plays a key role in preventing complications, including foot problems.
