Arterial Hypertension During Pregnancy

As part of the Clinician’s School program, a training session on the topic “Arterial Hypertension During Pregnancy” was held on November 5, 2024, at the MSE on PVC “Polyclinic № 3 of Pavlodar City” under the guidance of academic advisor, Candidate of Medical Sciences, and Associate Professor S.M. Adilgozhina. Pregnancy complicated by arterial hypertension is classified as high-risk due to the increased likelihood of miscarriage, as well as elevated perinatal and maternal morbidity and mortality. Therefore, women with hypertension are advised to plan their pregnancies in advance in consultation with a general practitioner and an obstetrician-gynecologist. A thorough medical history, blood and urine tests, objective examinations such as blood pressure measurement on both arms, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), kidney ultrasound, auscultation of the heart and lungs, electrocardiogram (ECG), and fundus examination are essential for diagnosing hypertension. A low-sodium diet, proper work and rest schedules for the pregnant woman, and carefully selected antihypertensive therapy based on current guidelines are crucial for preventing complications and ensuring the well-being of both the mother and the baby.
