As part of the clinician school at the MSE on PVC “Uspen DH” on October 28, 2024, a seminar on the topic “ARVI in children, features of the course” was held among the medical staff under the guidance of the academic mentor, PhD, Acting Associate Professor S.M. Adilgozhina, for the attached population. Acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) are a group of diseases caused by viruses that affect the upper respiratory tract. ARVI in children is one of the most common illnesses, especially during the cold season. Due to their underdeveloped immune systems, children may experience a more severe course of the disease with complications. High Fever – Children often experience a sudden rise in temperature, which is the body’s natural response to infection. Cough and Nasal Congestion – Children commonly develop a runny nose, cough, and sore throat. General Weakness and Irritability – Children become more irritable, lose their appetite, and often feel tired. Risk of Complications – Children have a higher risk of complications, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, or otitis. Treatment for ARVI in children is primarily symptomatic. This includes antipyretic medications, plenty of fluids, rest, and, if necessary, antiviral drugs. It is important to monitor the child’s condition and consult a doctor if symptoms worsen.
