As part of the preventive school of the year at the MSE on PVC “Uspen DH” on November 20, 2024, a seminar on the topic “Prevention of HIV infection” was held under the guidance of the academic mentor, PhD, Acting Associate Professor S.M. Adilgozhina, for the attached population. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system, weakening the body’s ability to fight infections and diseases. It’s important to understand that HIV is not transmitted through everyday contact such as handshakes, kissing, or using common utensils. However, there are ways HIV can be transmitted, and by following simple preventive measures, it can be avoided. Main prevention measures for HIV infection: Use of condoms. Condoms are one of the most effective ways to protect against HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
Avoidance of injectable drug use. HIV can be transmitted through blood, so it is crucial not to share needles or syringes. HIV testing. Regular testing helps to know your HIV status and, if needed, start treatment early. Education and awareness. Knowing how HIV is transmitted and how to protect yourself helps reduce the risk of infection. It’s important to lead a healthy lifestyle and avoid risky behavior. HIV prevention starts with understanding these measures and applying them in daily life.
