Preparing a child for school is an important stage that lays the foundation for successful learning and adaptation in a new environment. This topic became the leading one at the next meeting within the framework of the School of Preventive Medicine among 7th-year GP interns, where the issues of the relevance of preparing a child for school, methods for determining the child’s readiness for social life, and assessing physical and psychological development were covered.

The beginning of school life is a serious change in a child’s life. School places demands on physical, intellectual and social development. It is preparation that helps to avoid stress, reduce the risk of problems with learning and adaptation. Among the interns there are already young parents who will inevitably face the need to prepare their child for school, so having mastered this information they will be mentally prepared for this and will also be able to consult patients in their area.

In their presentation, the interns of the 707th group of primary care physicians presented methods for assessing a child’s readiness for school, demonstrated some of the tests that are conducted in most educational institutions, and explained the importance of starting preparation in a timely and gradual manner.
