On December 11, the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases of the NCJSC “SMU” hosted an intra-university subject Olympiad on the topic “HIV infection” together with the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatology and Immunology.
The following teams took part in the Olympiad: “T-helper” 4303 ohms, “Lifeline” 4321 ohms, “Pulse of Life” 4224 ohms and “Shyrak” 5314 ohms.The Olympiad was opened with a welcoming speech by the head of the Department of Children’s Infectious Diseases Efendyiev I. M. with wishes of success to all participants.
The purpose of the Olympiad is to raise awareness of medical students about the problems of HIV infection and its consequences.Deepening knowledge and consolidation after the winter school in the field of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of HIV infection in children and adults. Developing the skills of a scientific approach and critical analysis of information on HIV issues.To support students’ interest in research in the field of infectious diseases and virology.The formation of competencies for working with patients suffering from HIV infection, as well as preventive work within the framework of medical practice.
The Olympiad consisted of 3 stages. At stage 1, the teams prepared a “Welcome” introduction to the group, demonstrated homework, and prepared a video about commitment and prevention of HIV infection. At the 2nd stage, they showed their knowledge of HIV infection in the form of solving situational problems. And the 3rd stage is the captain’s competition, the Kahoot quiz.
According to the results of the Olympiad, the first place was taken by 4102 groups of “T-helper” 4303 ohms, the second prize was taken by “Shyrak” 5314 ohms. The teams of the groups “Lifeline” 4321 ohms, “Pulse of Life” 4224 ohms took the third place.
