Today, the republican student scientific and practical conference “Morphological sciences and Medicine: traditions, innovations and development“ was held, dedicated to the memory of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Yuri Vasilyevich Pruglo. Welcoming remarks were made by the Chairman of the Board–Rector A.A. Dyusupov, Vice-rector for Science and Strategic Development D.M. Shabdarbayeva, Head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy and Forensic Medicine named after Professor Yu.V. Pruglo S.A. Apbasov. The solemn part ended with a small concert program organized by teachers and students. The conference was held in a hybrid format in sections. Upon completion of the work of the sections, the results were summed up. Certificates were awarded to all participants of the conference, and prizes were awarded to the winners. Yuri Vasilyevich was born in 1939 in Dnepropetrovsk. In 1965 he graduated from the Kharkov Medical Institute. He started his career at the Dnepropetrovsk Research Institute of Gastroenterology. Since 1986, his career has continued at the medical institute of our city. From 1988 to 2003, Yuri Vasilyevich headed the Department of Pathological Anatomy, author of more than 280 scientific papers. Under the leadership of Yu.He has successfully defended 7 PhD and 2 doctoral dissertations. Since 1990, he has held the position of chief pathologist of the Semipalatinsk region. In 2011, the annual Pruglo Scholarship was established.
