Heroes live among us

On February 15, 2025, group 4114 in the “General Medicine” specialty, along with their group curator, the head of the military department cycle, reserve lieutenant colonel Mamykhanov R.T., honored the memory of the soldiers-internationalists who died in the Afghan War.

This year marks the 36th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. In connection with this, a ceremony of laying flowers took place at the monument to Afghan veterans.

This day is important for expressing gratitude to veterans, recognizing their courage and resilience, as well as for strengthening patriotism in society.

More than 100,000 Soviet servicemen participated in the Afghan War, which lasted from 1979 to 1989, of which over 22,000 were from Kazakhstan. About 500 of them were from the city of Semey.

The heroism of Afghan veterans is an example of true patriotism and love for the homeland for future generations. Peaceful existence is the greatest wealth of every nation. Therefore, the main lesson of this day is to value peace and never forget our history.
