The relevance and necessity of family and population planning are due to the fact that the number of children born prematurely and with developmental defects is increasing. The problem of family planning concerns every person, since it is directly related to the health of future generations. This is one of the most important problems of public health in the country as a whole. The solution to this problem is aimed at creating conditions for the birth of healthy and wanted children, protecting the reproductive health of the population, preventing child and maternal morbidity, and reducing mortality.

Family planning is a set of measures designed to help couples and individuals achieve certain results:

• have wanted children;
• avoid unwanted pregnancy;
• regulate the interval between pregnancies;
• determine the number of children in the family;
• control the choice of time of childbearing depending on the age of the parents.

Measures from the state health care system that make this practice possible include education on family and marriage issues; counseling on family planning; provision of contraceptives; organization of genetic consultations and examinations to identify serious diseases that prevent the birth of healthy children. The importance of the problem for the young population of the country served as a reason for holding the School of Preventive Medicine on the topic “Family Planning” on 17.02.2025, which was organized and prepared under the guidance of the head of the department, MD, Professor Dyusupova A.A. by teachers of the Department of General Practitioner of Semey Belyaeva T.M., Kamasheva G.T., Faizova R.I., Khismetova A.M., Terekhova T.I. together with interns of the 605th group of general practitioners. The presentation of the material was enhanced by the demonstration of a video sequence corresponding to the topic. For better assimilation of the material, interns of the 605th group Novichenko A. and Kasenova A. prepared a booklet with the main provisions of the topic. During the communication, those present received answers to all their questions of interest and were able to answer well the test questions that concluded the lesson
