Open Lessons at the Department of Molecular Biology

From February 12 to 14, 2025, an open lessons were held at the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics named after Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.K. Raissov. The lessons were conducted for groups 2103, 2105, 2106, 2124, and 2231 of the “Medicine” educational program using the Team-Based Learning (TBL) method on the topic “Inheritance of Blood Groups and the Rh-Factor.”

During the lessons, students worked in teams to study the principles of blood group inheritance according to the ABO system and the Rh factor (Rh). They analyzed the genetic mechanisms of trait transmission from parents to children, solved problems, and discussed medical aspects related to possible Rh-factor incompatibility.

The use of the TBL methodology enhanced student engagement, fostered the development of analytical and communication skills, and facilitated better assimilation of the material through collective discussions and case-solving.
