On March 11, 2025, according to the plan for holding open lessons using innovative technologies, OKKMO NAO “Semey Medical University” held a laboratory and practical lesson on the subject “Analytical Chemistry”.

An open lesson was held by the department’s teacher, Master of Natural Sciences in the specialty “Chemistry” Lauenova S.A. on the topic: “Titrimetric analysis. Acid-base titration”. The lesson was held for 2nd-year students of group 201 (multilingual) of the specialty “Pharmacy”.

The lesson was conducted using the TBL method – team-oriented learning. During the lesson, a presentation was used, which reflected the main concepts of the topic, relevance, purpose of the work, also provided a breakdown of assessments by types of assessment, and methodological instructions for laboratory work were used. In solving situational problems, students used D.I. Mendeleyev’s periodic table, a table of salt solubility, and a table of titration curves.

Before performing the laboratory work, consulting assistance was provided in calculating the mass of the analyzed solution based on the concentration of the titrant, calculating the normality and titer of the analyzed solution based on the volume used for titration.

The final part of the lesson ended with individual and group testing.
