Within the framework of the implementation of the plan for therapeutic work on March 19, 2025 at the Department of Children Infectious Diseases held a conference on the topic: “Meningococcal infection in children”.

The conference was held in a mixed format. Students of different levels (students of 4303 group “Pediatrics”, 4202 and 4219 groups “General Medicine”, interns of 604 group “General Medicine”, 701 group “Pediatrics”), children infectious disease doctors of the regional center of phthisiopulmonology, also infectious disease doctors of district and city medical institutions of Abay region took part.

Meningococcal disease is a serious public health problem, as it predominantly affects children and adolescents. Cases of generalized infection are of particular importance. The opening speech was made by the head of the department Efendiyev I.M. Assistant of the department of pediatric infectious diseases Mansurova A.A. presented a report on the topic: “Clinic, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of meningococcal infection in children”.

The results of the conference were summarized by Efendiyev I.M., who emphasized the relevance of the problem, clinical and epidemiological features of meningococcal infection, differential diagnosis, emergency therapy and answered questions from the audience.
