The problem of family planning concerns every person, since it is directly related to the health of future generations. This is one of the most important problems of public health in the country as a whole. The solution to this problem is aimed at creating conditions for the birth of healthy and wanted children, protecting the reproductive health of the population, preventing child and maternal morbidity, and reducing mortality.
The main objectives of the state program on family planning are the prevention of too early, frequent and late births, the prevention of unwanted pregnancy, ensuring optimal intervals between births, treating infertility, sexually transmitted diseases, and preventing HIV infection. The family planning and reproduction offices operating in Kazakhstan help individuals or couples avoid unwanted pregnancy, prepare for the birth of wanted children, regulate the interval between pregnancies, control the choice of time of childbirth depending on the age of the parents, and determine the number of children in the family. Family Planning Schools operating in the PHC system help solve these same problems.
