Mayra Zhaksimanovna Espenbetova – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Leading Endocrinologist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for many years she headed the Department of Endocrinology at the Semey Medical University, is currently a Professor of the Department of Endocrinology, as well as an actively practicing endocrinologist of the highest category. The main scientific direction is radiation thyroidology. She is the author of more than 240 scientific papers, 8 monographs, 10 methodological recommendations, 7 patents. Under her supervision, 10 PhD theses, 5 master’s theses, 2 Ph.D. theses were defended.
Professor Espenbetova M.Zh. participated in many international scientific and educational projects: at the Nagasaki University in thyroidology, the Nashim project (Japan), in 1997 at the World Cancer Center in Houston on endocrine oncology (USA), in 2001 in London (Great Britain) under the project of the British Council on primary health care. She has international certificates of internships in America, England, Japan. Participant of many international conferences, congresses abroad.
Participation in scientific projects in the implementation of scientific programs in the field of healthcare: Projects of the State Medical University of Semey “Development of evidence-based technologies for minimizing the environmental risk of preventing an adverse effect on public health” State Registration No. 011RK01090 (2012-2014); Comprehensive mutation analysis in thyroid tumors in Kazakhstan using next-generation sequencing (NGS).
Espenbetova Maira Zhaksimanovna became the winner of the annual award “Best Researcher” in 2021 in the nomination “Medicine and Health Care” (Order No. 623 on awarding the annual award “Best Researcher” dated December 30, 2021 No. 3).
