On October 25, a scientific seminar on the topic “Nevada-Semey: History and Lessons” was held at the Department of General Disciplines. The scientific seminar was organized by members of the historical and philosophical club as part of the 30th anniversary of the international anti-nuclear movement “Nevada-Semipalatinsk.” The scientific seminar was attended by students of 111 groups of OM Abdrakhmanova Aya, Aldyrbaeva Alida, 124 groups of Malgazhdarova Aigerim, Rymbekova Yeldana, Kenzhegaliev, Bajytbek Aidosyly Zhandos and student of the 203 group Stom Kudusheva Dilyara and teachers of the department of OOD Sergazina G.M. (leader of the circle), Tabuldinova G.N., Muzdybaeva T.A., Kupanova S.A., Ekibaev R.Zh.

The purpose of the event is to show youth the importance of environmental tragedy on the consequences of nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk test site. To assess the significance and global nature of the results achieved by the Semey-Nevada anti-nuclear movement on a national and global scale. To determine the role and place of the Semey-Nevada movement in the struggle for a nuclear-free world.

Students in a meeting of the scientific circle in their reports spoke about the history of the creation of the nuclear test site and the consequences of nuclear explosions, about the historical significance of the Nevada-Semey movement in the recent history of Kazakhstan. Particular attention at the scientific seminar was also paid to the topics of environmental education of the younger generation, the formation of a responsible attitude to nature and the development of environmental thinking.
