On March 31 of this year was held a regular meeting of the online international discussion club of children’s infectious diseases specialists. The topic of the meeting is “Meningococcal infection in children”. The members of the club are children’s infectious diseases specialists of Kazakhstan, as well as countries of the near and far abroad.

The club organizer – Head of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases of Astana Medical University, Professor, MD, Chief Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bayasheva D.A. made an introductory speech. Then assistant of the Department of Children’s Infectious Diseases of Semey Medical University, c.m.s Mansurova A.A. have presented the report “Meningococcal infection. Overview of the problem”. In her speech, the speaker reported on the relevance, morbidity in the world and in Kazakhstan, etiological prevalence, clinical picture of meningococcal infection, as well as a clinical case from practice.  The discussion was attended by the head of the Department of Children’s Infectious Diseases of Semey Medical University, PhD, chief Children’s infectious disease specialist of the Abay region Efendiyev I.M. In his speech he spoke about his experience in diagnosing and treating severe cases of meningococcal infection, once again stressed the importance of early diagnosis and timely therapy of meningococcal infection in children. In conclusion, Professor Bayasheva D.A. thanked the speakers and participants of the discussion club.
