Memory is an unusual history teacher. Therefore, it is important to remember everyone who has done for you what you have now, and never forget what they have done for you and your peaceful life.
To this end, on May 5, 2023, on the eve of the Great Victory Day, a meeting was held with students studying at the military department of the NAO “Semey Medical University”, with home front veteran Kravchenko Lyubov Borisovna and specialist of the KSU “Center for Documentation of the Modern History of the City of Semey” Yakovleva Natalia Vladimirovna.
During the war years, the situation in the country was quite difficult. People fought for victory both at the front and in the rear.
Lyubov Borisovna told about the work and importance of the medical service in wartime, about the structure of five evacuation hospitals that functioned in the city of Semipalatinsk. She also stressed how much work was invested by everyone who worked putting all their strength and capabilities to maintain the health and recovery of all people who evacuated from all points of hostilities. It was thanks to the well-coordinated work of everyone that many lives were saved and the mortality of the victims was reduced.
During the war years, many lost loved ones, some families, after many years are still in search of information about them. In this regard, I would like to note the importance of the work of the archive of the KSU “Center for Documentation of the modern History of Semey”, which help not to lose hope in finding loved ones.
Employees collect important documents and close gaps in history, they also produce informative brochures and books with exclusive information about the war years and not only. We are glad to inform you that such copies are now stored at our university…
Years pass… But while history is alive, memory is alive. And while memory is alive, history is alive.
Responsible for educational work,
Lieutenant Colonel of the medical service N.Smailov
