In Semey, a state of emergency of a natural nature has been declared. To date, the forest fire area has reached 60 thousand hectares. All the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are directed to liquidate the natural disaster, help in the liquidation of the Department of Emergency Situations of the East Kazakhstan region, Almaty, Zhetysu, Kyzylorda regions, and additional resources of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan are also attracted.

Residents of the city and the region did not remain indifferent to the common misfortune, and operational headquarters were set up throughout the region to raise funds to help the victims and rescuers involved in extinguishing the fire.

SMU, NCJSC also created an operational headquarters headed by the Chairman of the Board – Rector A.A. Dyussupov. The decision of the operational headquarters announced the collection of funds for the provision of humanitarian assistance. In a short period of time, the entire faculty, employees of the university, as well as Pavlodar and Ust-Kamenogorsk branches, responded. Thanks to the prompt and well-coordinated work of the team, members of the operational headquarters, medicines, food, and essential items worth more than 700 thousand tenge were purchased and delivered to the regional branch of the Amanat party for further centralized delivery of humanitarian aid.
