The medical profession is one of the oldest – it has existed since time immemorial, since the prehistoric period. Already in the primitive era, the first healers appeared who knew the properties of many plants and knew how to use their healing power. As a result of their medical activities, sufficient experience has accumulated over time, which gave impetus to the emergence of medicine itself as a science. On 10/04/2023, the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology of SMU, NCJSC organized an “Open Day” dedicated to a meeting with outstanding doctors for undergraduate, internship and residency students. The opening of the event began with a welcoming speech from the head of the department Kaskabaeva A.Sh. A presentation was presented to the attention of those present with the history of the department from its opening to the present day. Students had the opportunity to meet and talk with the Honored Professor and the “Legend” of our university Ivanova Raifa Latyfovna, with Professor Zhumadilova Zauresh Kenzhekhanovna, with associate professors of the department: Alibekova R.I., Rymbaeva T.Kh., Shakhanov T.E. This event aroused keen interest among students, and words of gratitude were expressed for the informative and motivating communication. The event held by the department coincided with Teacher’s Day and International Doctor’s Day. Head of the department Kaskabaeva A.Sh. congratulated everyone on the holiday and wished them long life, and also thanked them for their active participation in the life of the department!
