From September 21 to October 6, we students of group 4426 of the Faculty of General Medicine took the elective discipline “Practice of writing a medical history” at the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Before starting the cycle we expected just to learn how to write a patient’s medical history correctly, but in the end we got also many other useful skills.
To write a history it is necessary to clearly know its structure, to collect correctly all data from patients without missing important details, to be able to correctly analyze the obtained data. Thorough collection of patient’s complaints on all systems, physical examination with the use of palpation, percussion and auscultation techniques, drawing up a plan of laboratory and instrumental methods of investigation – all these skills are necessary for a future doctor. We had an opportunity to improve these skills and in this we were helped by the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, namely our teacher Petrova Julia Viktorovna. We express our gratitude to all the staff for the useful elective we offered. 4426 group General Medicine[/vc_column_text]
