Currently, there is a shortage of laboratory doctors in Kazakhstan. Therefore, the opening of the residency specialty «Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics» at Semey Medical University and the receipt of a state educational order for the training of residents in 2023 is relevant and timely. Currently, 8 residents are studying, who work in the clinical and diagnostic laboratories of medical institutions in Semey, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Pavlodar.
The training of residents involves the integration of theory and practice. The academic mentor is PhD, acting Associate professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenerology and Immunology, laboratory assistant of the highest category Kudaibergenova N.K. In the theoretical classes, modern methods of conducting laboratory research are discussed.
The practical work of the resident is carried out in the clinical and diagnostic laboratories of clinical bases (performing laboratory tests, conducting quality control, interpreting research results, working in medical information systems (СMIS, LIS), registration of accounting and reporting documentation) under the guidance of experienced clinical mentors from practical healthcare.
The main clinical base for the training of residents in Semey is the University Hospital of the NСJSC «SМU». Clinical mentors are laboratory doctors of the highest category Popova N.P. and Ismailova B.K. Residents also receive on-the-job training at the Polyclinic № 7 in Semey, where the clinical mentor is the chief freelance laboratory assistant of the Abai region, head of the centralized medical laboratory Sultanova R.S.
Residents, studying at the Ust-Kamenogorsk branch, work under the guidance of the head of the laboratory Nuraldinova A.V. on the basis of the City Hospital № 4 in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Fakhrutdinova N.Z., a freelance laboratory assistant at the Pavlodar region, head of the clinical and diagnostic laboratory of the «Polyclinic № 5 in Pavlodar», is a clinical mentor and has excellent knowledge of the latest techniques in the laboratory.
Medical institutions are equipped with all the necessary modern equipment for high-quality laboratory diagnostics. The clinical bases have a wide profile of departments, which allows residents to conduct a sufficient number of studies in patients with various pathologies.
Thus, residents, under the guidance of experienced clinical mentors, gain special knowledge and hone practical skills.[/vc_column_text]
