Open laboratory-practical lesson in the discipline “Analytical Chemistry”

On March 6, 2024, according to the plan for conducting open classes for the 2022-2023 academic year, approved by the “Council for Academic Quality of NJSC Semey Medical University”, a laboratory and practical lesson in the discipline “Analytical Chemistry” was held.

An open lesson was held by the teacher of the department, Master of Natural Sciences in the specialty “Chemistry” Lauenova S.A. on the topic: “Complexometric titration. Determination of total water hardness”. The lesson was held for 2nd year students of group 201 (multilingual) specialty “Pharmacy”.

During the lesson, interactive teaching methods, presentations were used, methodological instructions for laboratory work were used. In the course of solving situational problems, students used the periodic table of D.I. Mendeleev, table of salt solubility, table of titration curves.

Before performing laboratory work, consulting assistance was provided in calculating the mass of the analyzed solution by the concentration of the titrant, calculating the normality and titer of the analyzed solution based on the volume used for titration.

The final part of the lesson ended with individual and group testing.

The open lesson was attended by Malik M.M. – Master, head teacher of the Department of Microbiology named after Professor M.M. Urazalina, Acting Head of the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines named after Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tapbergenov S.O. Olzhayeva R.R., head teacher of the department Ablenova A.T.
