In order to foster a sense of patriotism, faith in people, willingness to stand up for peace, defend their homeland, respect for freedom fighters, a sense of pride for their people who defended the freedom and independence of the Motherland in harsh years, on March 14, 2024, a memorable lecture dedicated to 105 was held at the military department of the National Academy of Sciences “Semey Medical University”- the anniversary of pilot Nurken Abdirov with students of the 304 platoon of the specialty «Pediatrics», under the guidance of senior lecturer Lieutenant Colonel of the reserve medical service Smailov Nurbek Sadenovich.

The students were introduced to the biography and exploits of Nurken Abdirov. He was only 23 years old… By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 31, 1943, Sergeant N. Abdirov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union for exceptional heroism and self-sacrifice in the name of the Motherland. He was awarded the Order of Lenin posthumously.

During the war, the Nurken Abdirov aircraft was built with the funds raised by residents of Karaganda and transferred to the aviation unit that took part in the battles at the front.
