Health Education Session on “Prevention of Food Allergies in Children”

On May 24, 2024, the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Rehabilitation named after D.M. Tusupova, based at the University Hospital’s SMU conducted a health education session on the topic “Prevention of Food Allergies in Children.” The session was led by Assistant Professor Zhansulu Bektar S. and conducted by 7th-year interns from Group 710.

During the session, the following topics were covered: the concept of beneficial and harmful foods, causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment of food allergies. The discussion included identifying foods that commonly trigger allergies in children.

Interns engaged parents and patients with questions to assess their awareness of the topic. Educational brochures with practical recommendations and guidelines were then distributed. Emphasis was placed on preventive measures, and simple rules were shared with parents and children to help them protect themselves from food allergies.

The health education session was productive, with effective communication and feedback established.
