Pharmacology department was organized in Semey medical Institute at 1955-1956 educational year (Grebneva L. A., Altimishev A. A., who in future become a famous scientist, d.m.sc, professor, academician of Kirgiz Academy of science).Under their leadership were protected dissertations, the main direction of which was the study of the pharmacology of cerebral circulation.
Since 1980-2015 y. department of Pharmacology was lead by d.m.sc., professor, corresponding member of Academy of medical Sciences RK Mussin Marat Nukenovich. In 1975y in Kyiv he defended candidate dissertation by theme: “Pharmacological study of a polyphenol preparation obtained from peppermint”, in 1993 in Moscow on the basis of the Institute of Pharmacology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Pharmacological study of antiarrhythmic properties of a new class of compounds – 1,2-substituted pyrroles.”
She was founded for the first time and headed by the chair d.m.sc., Professor Zhangelova Maira Belgibayevna. She worked as an assistant of the department of Biochemistry in Semey State Medical Institute, was a postgraduate student of the Department of Biochemistry of the Kharkov Medical Institute (1966-1968), assistant, assistant professor, professor. She was awarded the Gold Medal of Peace (the Soviet Peace Committee), the Veteran of Labor medal.
From 2000 to 2009, the course of clinical pharmacology was headed by professor SGMA Baysugurov Zh. B., graduated from the medical faculty of the Semipalatinsk Medical Institute in 1969.Author of 45 publications, 6 manuals for students, interns and doctors. In 1983, he was awarded the badge “Excellent worker in health care system”, and in 1987, 1995 “Honorary Diploma” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In different years the assistant professor Maltsev V. G., associate professor Kulubekov R. Ye, associate professor Kapanova G. K., assistants Pchelintseva T. M., Dolanbekova M. A., Rakhimgalieva G. B., Aliyeva S. A. worked at the department, Nugmanova Z. Ye, Sundeeva Ye. A. Akimzhanova Esengaisha Faruazbekovna she works as laboratory assistant of from the day of department’s foundation.
From 2015 to the present, the head of the department is Raikhan Yesenzhanovna Tuleutayeva, in 1988 she graduated with honors from the Semipalatinsk State Medical Institute. The doctor-nephrologist and therapeutist of the highest degree, an independent accredited expert on nephrology and therapy, participated as a national expert in the accreditation of residency specialties at the Medical University of Astana and the KazNRI Cardiology and Internal Medicine. Since 2007, she worked as assistant at the Department of General and Clinical Pharmacology, since 2009 has been responsible for the discipline of clinical pharmacology. She completed traineeship in 2013 in the USA, in 2015 in Australia.
In 2016, awarded the academic title of Professor of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, awarded with a badge “Honored Worker of Science and Education”, a medal “For the Fidelity to the Profession of Pharmacy”. More than 70 scientific publications, 5 manuals on clinical pharmacology in the Kazakh language, 1 terminological dictionary on clinical pharmacology and pharmacotherapy in Russian, Kazakh and English languages, 4 rationalization proposals, 1 copyright certificate for an invention. Since 2015 she is a member of working group, developing of clinical protocols for the diagnosis and treatment Republic of Kazakhstan in various areas of medicine.
Currently, the department’s priority areas in research work are pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacogenetics, safety issues of the use of drugs, which are dealt with by researchers, Mahatova A. R., Musina A. E., Alieva S. A.
