Department of Traumatology and Pediatric Surgery

The Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics was established in 1970 by combining the course of traumatology-orthopedics (Head Assoc. Prof. Khabizhanov B.Kh.) and Military field surgery (Head Karamedin I.I.). The staff of the department performs all types of modern surgical interventions in trauma patients, namely: transosseous, intraosseous blocking, extraosseous according to the AO-ASIF technology for fractures of long tubular bones. In case of pelvic injuries, surgical fixation of the anterior and posterior half-rings of the pelvis was mastered using the AO technology, osteosynthesis of the acetabular columns using the Latournel-Jude technology. Endoprosthetics of the hip and knee joints are performed. Employees of the department annually undergo foreign training. The “School of Orthopedics” was opened, where it is planned to carry out research work with the involvement of foreign specialists. It is planned to defend the doctoral dissertation PhD Toktarova E.N. Admission of one of the two assistants to PhD. An internship is planned on the basis of the strategic partner Baskent University, Turkey.
