Training in pediatric care skills for newborns in primary health care settings occupies one of the most important places in the work of a general practitioner. Under the heading: “Raising Healthy Children,” a school of Preventive Medicine was held on February 5, 2024. The school was dedicated to the problem of organizing foster care for young children. Interns from GP groups 714 and 715 took an active part in the preparation and conduct of the School. In addition to presenting a colorful presentation and a film, a quiz was held, in which 6-7 year internship students studying at the department were involved. The organization of foster care includes monitoring the physical and psychosocial development of children, as well as involving the family in the process of caring for the child, promoting the formation of a healthy lifestyle from a very early age. The emphasis of the School was placed on such important issues as assessing the health of the child and mother, rules for caring for a newborn, the presence of a newborn corner, teaching the mother of the child breastfeeding techniques and the introduction of complementary foods.
