On November 17, 2023, at the initiative of the head of the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Rehabilitation named after Tusupova D.M. Alimbayeva A. R., an open day dedicated to the day of premature babies was held at the Toktamys Children’s rehabilitation center. The event was organized by resident-rehabilitologists, resident-neonatologists and resident-pediatricians of the department.
The International Day of Premature Babies was established in 2009 on the initiative of the European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Children.
For this reason, in the center together with nutritionists, neuropathologists and residents, in particular, resident-surgeons and resident-traumatologists of the Department of Traumatology and Pediatric Surgery, resident-pediatricians and resident-rehabilitologists of the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Rehabilitation D.M.Tusupova was consulted. About 30 children who made an appointment were examined by specialists and given their instructions. As a result of the admission, it was concluded that children need an additional in-depth examination by a neurologist, surgeon, traumatologist, an early rehabilitation program and further consultation with a nutritionist.
After the reception, feedback was received from mothers who brought their children. The mothers expressed their gratitude for the organized event and made suggestions that such events should be held more.
