On March 1, 2024, as a result of the joint work of the “Semey Medical University”, the East Kazakhstan Region Health Department and the administrations of the Kurchum and Glubokovsky districts, an online meeting with students of residency and internship took place. The meeting was attended by more than 100 future young professionals who received information about the districts. The deputy akims of the district made a presentation of their districts to the students. During the meeting, deputy akims answered the questions posed by future graduates.

It is worth noting that in the Glubokoe district there is a demand for 8 medical specialists, this is a general practitioner – 4 specialists, a radiologist – 1 specialist, a physiotherapist – 1 specialist, public health – 1 specialist, an obstetrician-gynecologist – 1 specialist. There are only 4 medical specialists in the Kurchum district, these are an anesthesiologist – 1 specialist, an intensive care specialist – 1 specialist, an obstetrician-gynecologist – 1 specialist and a general practitioner – 2 specialists. It is also noted that there is a shortage of medical specialists in the Markakol district hospital.

This event was the first this academic year within the framework of the national project “Modernization of healthcare in rural areas” on the initiative of the Chairman of the Board-Rector of the “Semey Medical University” Dyusupov Altai Akhmetkalievich. According to the schedule, meetings will be held with the mayors of 6 more districts of East Kazakhstan region, as well as the mayors of the districts of Abai and Pavlodar regions.[/vc_column_text]
